Hi friends, and happy Sunday! ๐Ÿ€

First things first though...a big CONGRATULATIONS to those who participated in Match Day 2025 ๐ŸŽ‰โ—๏ธ I hope everyone was satisfied with their results and had plenty of fun celebrating with classmates, family, and friends ๐Ÿฅณ.

Be sure to check out my FREE pre-residency checklist on my resources page...it's never too early to start getting prepared for your next chapter! ๐Ÿ˜ธ

With this edition being released at the end of March, that means we are already a quarter of the way through 2025 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Where has the time gone?! ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

About now is when I typically do a quarterly check in ๐Ÿค”. I set aside some time, pull out my planner, and start to go through all the plans and goals I set at the start of the year ๐Ÿ’ญ.

For example, one of my goals was to say no to things that overcomplicate managing Med School Moose ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. This is ongoing, but for the most part I think I've done that, cutting out unnecessary side projects and instead focusing on writing articles and creating more content for my YouTube channel ๐Ÿคจ.

This check-in tends to be really helpful in celebrating tasks/goals that are on track ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป while making sure other priorities aren't getting left behind ๐Ÿ›Ÿ.

As I do this, I also reflect on resources that have helped me and lessons I've learned so far. I've shared some of these ideas below โฌ‡๏ธ

  • Not every opportunity that comes along is the right one for you, or even the right one for you right now ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ. It's okay to say no, and you might feel relieved once you do ๐Ÿ˜Œ
  • Using a new free app I found called Superlist has helped me make progress on several different projects ๐Ÿ“‹
  • I will never finish every single task that I have, so I might as well prioritize the ones that are important/I truly care about โœ…
  • Even on bad days there is some good โ˜€๏ธ, and even in failures there is a lesson to be learned ๐Ÿ’ญ
  • Take the time to appreciate the little things, even if it's something like a cool new desk mat ๐Ÿค“

By writing this newsletter, it looks like I've already got a great head start on my check in ๐Ÿ˜„! That being said I encourage everyone, whether you're a medical student a few months away from graduation ๐ŸŽ“ or a doctor years into your practice ๐Ÿ’‰, to take some time and check in with yourself, whatever that may look like.

Talk to you soon! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฝ
